Benefits during pregnancy

Pregnancy can be an enormously stressful time in a woman's life. The build up of tension in the muscles due to the shift in the centre of gravity, the change in hormonal balance, the softening of ligaments and the extra weight of the growing baby all increase the sensitivity of the mother to daily living, mentally physically and emotionally.

Massage can help relieve some of those aches and pains, aiding relaxation and giving you time out to relieve some of the stresses you may be experiencing. A course of pre-natal massage is a therapeutic body work which focuses on the needs of the mother-to-be, preparing her body to cope with the demands of carrying and delivering her baby, while imprinting on the baby the art and joy of relaxation.

Post-natal massage can help you deal with some of those post-natal blues as well as aiding you to cope with a new addition to the family. It will enhance your ability to deal with some of the adjustments to your life due to the learning of new skills and lack of sleep, by giving you some time out to relax while easing many tense muscles.
